Two day ago was the start of the OMK / Way To Win - 2WD Fall Classic race series hosted by OMK (Oslo R/C Car Club) and R/C distributor Way To Win.
The race series is run over 8 rounds on OMK's Astro track partially under the flood lights in the evening. Race format consists of open free practice and then 3 qualifiers and 3 finals.
Running my JConcepts and ORCA equipped XRAY XB2 with my basic astro setup I was able to take the TQ after some very eventful qualifying heats.
For the first final I had a great battle for 1st after an early mistake by me which led to me running a bit wide. But with patience and keeping the pressure up and wait for a mistake I was able to take back the lead and the important first win of the evening.
For the second final it was once again the #2 car that would follow me closely for the first part, but eventually I was able to open up a lead and take another win.
For the 3rd and last final the sun had set and the track was getting colder and a bit moist in some parts. Not sure on how slippery the track would be we decided to stay with the pink/pink Swaggers and Lockness tire combination. This turned out to be the perfect choice as my XB2 was consistent and easy to drive on the varying surface and I was able to lead from tone to tone to take an easy 3rd win of the evening.
